Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Harry A. Wolin is senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for AMD. In this role, Wolin has responsibility for the corporation’s global legal, strategy, government relations, communications, and marketing functions. Wolin has played a lead role in some of AMD’s most significant legal and transactional proceedings, including the IBM/AMD process technology alliance, the acquisition of ATI, and the 2009 settlement of all antitrust and intellectual property disputes with Intel Corporation.
Prior to becoming General Counsel in 2003, Wolin managed AMD’s Technology Law Department and was responsible for intellectual property matters as Vice President, Intellectual Property. Before he joined AMD in 2000, Wolin spent twelve years at Motorola, where his last role was Vice President and Director of Legal Affairs for the Semiconductor Products Sector.
Wolin received the 2008 Magna Stella award for innovative management from the Texas General Counsel Forum. He is a member of the State Bars of Arizona and Texas and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Wolin holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Arizona and a law degree from Arizona State University.
Wolin serves on the Board of Governors of Lifeworks, the largest nonprofit organization in Austin.
