Get into the game with AMD TressFX Hair – a hair physics system so realistic you’ll forget there’s a screen in front of you. AMD TressFX Hair builds on the massively-parallel processing capabilities of the Graphics Core Next architecture to revolutionize in-game hair, enabling image quality previously reserved for pre-rendered images.
Incredibly realistic detail
You can practically feel a character’s hair fluttering in the wind as each one of thousands of individualized strands of hair constantly changes with the wind speed. The physics system treats each strand of hair as a chain with dozens of links, permitting forces like gravity, wind and movement of the head to move and curl a character’s hair in a realistic fashion.
Further, collision detection is performed to ensure that strands do not pass through one another or other solid surfaces such as the head, clothing and body.
For a final touch, hair styles are simulated by gradually pulling the strands back towards their original shape after they have moved in response to an external force.
